The personal quests eat time and so does preparing for an incursion. The thing about incursions and events is time. Or take the time to stack everyone behind a door, wait for a new turn then open the door and nuke the entire room with all my attacks. Unless I'm chasing a spirit, I'll advance through a dungeon slowly and rely on range. I'll go with 1 Warrior, 2 Hunters and 2 Mystics or even 3 Hunters and one of everything else. With party composition, the only reason I'll have more than one warrior in a group is if I don't have enough hunters/mystics to fill out the numbers. This is because I often play with 2 mystics and don't have to worry about running out of items if I have that. I like that 'tree' skill personally - you know the one mystics have which create a tree? Forget the name. But I never take Aid because unless I've screwed up or I'm getting totally overwhelmed, I hardly get hit and Aid has limited range, too, right? I'd rather use the turn offensively and kill whatever is attacking us, or scramble for position rather than burning time to heal a guy and risk allowing another attack on me. You've gotta have ambush - I don't care how anyone plays, it's the best ability in the game. I didn't know that about the patrolling corrupted areas, thanks for that.Ī lot of the tactics are playstyle, although I agree with much of your reasoning. There is no "wrong way" to play a game like this.I am sure there are a plethora of ways to conquer it, but it was crafted with tactics in mind, and is more complex then it may initially seem. Spears are best because of thier extended reach as well for this guy. Make one of your warriors a tank w/shield and high armor ratings, and your "sentinel" (see above) a 2 handed weapons master. The best build imo is 2 Warriors, 2 Hunters, and a Mystic. Fighting on areas that are corrupted makes your health gradually drop.ĪLWAYS get the item when you research, dont rush those.įor the most part, events usually help more then they hurt you, even if they seem like something bad will happen. Instead, spend your legacy pts on either new recruits, legacy characters, or keeping the enemies stats low.DONT cancel the invasions to reap more items/materials. So NEVER skip incursions.See them as a benefit. Every battle guarantees you at LEAST one item. Once you get the hang of combo picking your skills and figuring out some of these tricks with them, things get much easier.ĭont skip battles. These have obviously been well thought out, so that tactics would need to be used to win the day over brute force. But I will say this. The devs didnt just throw whatever out for skills willy nilly. I am probably going to do a guide once I have found most or all the synergies and experimented a bit more. If your lucky, you may get the event that gives your mage cone of fire.I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW USEFUL this is. In other words, if you picked "Stone and rubble" as a fusion type, stick with those and you get much better spells.

(There is one from fusing Rock but it only lasts for a turn so its not very useful) specialize him if you want him to be powerful. Its the ONLY healing I have found so far. Putting 2 hunters on ambush with a decent bow, and not much is going to reach you alive. Ignore the one that starts flame. Its not really a useful skill so far as I can tell despite how cool it seems. Get the skill that shreds armor for them, the counter vrs ranged, and always get the one that gives infinite reaction. Hunters- GET AMBUSH! Its far more accurate then thier normal shot, and if it doesnt trigger, so long as you dont move your archer, the shots they didnt take will stack. For added oomph, give him counter-when-dodging. Give him any items that boost "stunts".Let them come to you, and watch the fun begin.

Warrior- You want Sentinal, unlimited Reaction, wolfcall, plus 1 range, and plus 1 to all damage, and the skill that lets you jump 3 spaces during guard (I forget what its called).Put this guy on guard and DONT attack.Make sure he has at least a tier 2 weapon.
